Peter Katt received his B.A. degree from Lynchburg College in 1988, magna cum laude.  He graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1991, and has practiced law in Roanoke, Virginia since that time.  For the first nine years of his practice Attorney Katt had a general practice in state, bankruptcy and federal court. Since 2000, Attorney Katt has focused solely on personal injury litigation cases. He has tried hundreds of cases in Virginia’s state courts, and in the District and Bankruptcy Courts of the United States. Attorney Katt has handled appeals in the Court of Appeals of Virginia, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  Attorney Katt currently focuses his trial work on serving clients who have been injured in car wrecks, while riding bicycles and motorcycles, struck by drunk drivers and tractor trailer operators, and injured in boating tragedies. He takes a special interest in representing clients who have been injured by defective products and those seriously injured by dangerous dogs and other animals.

Peter Katt is an avid whitewater kayaker and canoeist, and volunteers much of his time to river access and conservation issues.  He was a co-recipient of the 2015 Randy Carter Award for his work in safeguarding recreational access to Virginia streams.
