Fatal car crash claims life of 57-year-old woman

A fatal accident can occur in Roanoke City or throughout the state at any time. One of the worst feelings a family can have is to receive that phone call or knock at the door informing them that their loved one has been the victim in a fatal car crash. Unfortunately, these wrongful death incidents happen frequently and without warning. It's important for those who are affected by them to know what to do in their immediate aftermath.

A four-vehicle crash led to the death of a 57-year-old woman. The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. when a Ford Explorer being driven by a 16-year-old was heading south and drifted into the lanes heading north. It hit two cars before crashing head-on into the Toyota Camry driven by the decedent. The other three drivers were also hurt. The drivers of the two vehicles hit before the Camry were not seriously injured. It's unknown how injured the 16-year-old was and the investigation is ongoing to determine whether or not he'll face charges.

There are numerous issues that must be confronted after a fatal car crash or any other kind of fatal accident. There might be medical costs prior to the death. There will be funeral expenses. After it hits home that the loved one -- a parent, grandparent, young person or anyone else -- is dead, there will be changes to the lifestyle that could cause significant problems. The person who died might have been the breadwinner in the household. It could have been a stay at home parent whose presence will be sorely missed. The loss of companionship is an emotional issue and there are likely to be financial and practical problems as well. Insurance companies are interested in keeping their bottom line within reason and with that, they might offer a settlement to preclude a legal filing. It's important that those who have been affected know what to do to pursue compensation.

In this incident, a woman was hit head-on by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old and died. With the circumstances surrounding this crash, it's imperative that a full investigation be conducted with the interests of the family who lost their loved one in mind.
