Craftsman recalls popular blower vacuums due to fire danger

When victims are harmed by a defective or dangerous product, products liability law can step in to help. Craftsman recently recalled approximately 74,000 of their popular blower vacuums due to fire dangers. There have been a total of seven reports of the blowers catching fire. One injury has been reported as a result of the danger caused by the product. Two different model numbers have been recalled. According to the recall, consumers who own the dangerous product should immediately discontinue its use and contact the company for a full refund for the purchase of the product. The product was sold at several retailers from January 2013 to October 2015.

Truck accidents create concerns for victims and families

Truck accidents can have serious consequences for individuals and families. Because semi trucks typically weight 25 times more than a passenger vehicle, the dangers of a truck accident can be serious and the outcome can be far more catastrophic and than those outcomes associated with a passenger vehicle accident. Large truck accidents accounted for 4,995 fatalities and 106,000 injuries during 2006.

Workplace fatality numbers in Virginia

Workplace accidents are a serious concern for workers and families. A preliminary report of 127 workplace fatalities were reported in Virginia during 2011. The number represents a 19 percent increase from the 107 workplace fatalities reported in Virginia during 2010. Workers ages 25 to 54, which are considered prime working age, accounted for 66 percent of the reported fatalities in 2011.

ATVs have become increasingly popular and are enjoyed by many individuals. ATVs, however, can be dangerous and ATV accidents can result in serious, debilitating and long-lasting injuries and harm.
