Helping secure compensation following a car accident

When Virginia residents go somewhere, they likely use a motor vehicle to get around. This is fairly common, as automobiles are valuable and resourceful. And, while they benefit society, they also present many risks. Motor vehicles can travel at a high rate of speed, and if a motorist is not being careful and attentive, this could result in a serious and even fatal car accident.

How are TBIs detected?

As a previous post highlighted, a head trauma may not be obvious following an accident. In other words, it is possible to suffer a traumatic brain injury in a Virginia automobile crash without knowing it immediately. A TBI is a serious injury and could affect a victim for years to come. Because of this, it is important that accident victims are properly assessed and medically treated following an accident.

Long and short-term effects of a TBI

No one expects to be in an accident. Even more so, no one expects to suffer a serious injury, especially when the accident tis minor and a victim does not believe they have suffered any serious injuries. However, some accident injuries can be delayed. Take for example a head injury. Trauma to the brain is not always apparent immediately following a car accident. A victim may show sign and symptoms several hours or even days following the incident. A brain injury is a serious injury that could result in long-term issues.

Recall issued for almond milk for containing real milk

As well-seasoned consumers, we have certain expectations when we make purchases. Ultimately, we expect to get what we pay for. Whether it is the quality of the brand name, the product doing what it is intended to do or the product being what it is advertised as, consumers' expectations should be met. Unfortunately, defects can occur. This not only presents risks and dangers to consumers but could also be the cause of a recall being issued.

What is the recall process for medical devices?

When we think of the products that consumers use, we often think of automobiles, household items and tools. In addition to these products, many consumers also purchase medical items, such as prescription drugs and medical devices. These items, like other products, could be subject to defects. When this occurs, these items are recalled. The hope is that by taking them off of the market, consumers will not suffer harm from these items. Additionally, it allows certain consumers to take action to avoid harm by having a medication or medical device replaced.
