Hit-and-run accident leaves bicyclist injured

Car accidents may be every day events in Virginia and other states across the nation. However, they are not all fender bender and minor incidents. Some car accidents are severe and do not just involved automobiles. Pedestrians and cyclists can be struck, resulting in serious and even fatal injuries. And in some unfortunate accidents, motorists do not stick around the crash site. A hit-and-run accident can cause much harm and pain to those injured, causing many to be left with unanswered questions.

A primer on what constitutes product liability

We are a society of consumers. We purchase goods to help ease problems or provide entertainment. No matter the purpose of a good, a consumer in Virginia and elsewhere believes that the product will work properly or as promised. Those that fail to do so could be defective. In some cases, this could simply mean that the product does not work at all. However, in other situations, this defect could cause the product to be dangerous, causing harm to a consumer.

Understanding your rights after the tragic loss of a loved one

The loss of a loved one is a difficult event to cope with. This is especial true for those who have lost a family member suddenly because of an accident. In some cases, the negligence of another party may be to blame. This could be a distracted driver, fatigued truck driver, negligent property owner, or even a negligent medical professional. When a party fails to uphold their duty of care owed to another, a fatal accident could result and give rise to a wrongful death action.
